Q. How much insurance do I need?
A. We generally recommend 10-15 times your annual income. For
example, if you earn $35,000 per year, and your family is dependent
upon this income, you will need to generate at least this amount
in interest each year from your life policy. A $525,000 life insurance
policy for a 45 year old male can be as low as $34 per month. This
is 15 times annual income and would only require 7.5% return on
average to replace your income, and never deplete the principle.
Q. Should I buy Term Life or Permanent Life insurance?
A. The type of insurance you buy depends on your needs. Term life insurance provides the most affordable pure protection for a set number of years. Term insurance may have a period of 1 to 30 years. Permanent insurance, however, may better suit your needs if you desire long term protection, or tax sheltered savings. Some clients require a mix of the two.
Q. What happens when term insurance "expires"?
A. At the end of the term, you will have the option to convert it to a permanent policy. In some instances, there will be no need to satisfy new medical qualifications, however rates will increase due to age. Or, you can always renew the policy with a new term policy.
Q. What is the process for applying?
A. The application process consists of submitting an application and a medical exam (in most cases) to the insurance company. It may also be required that you complete a short interview by telephone.
Q. How does the exam work?
A. The exam can be scheduled at your home or work, usually takes
20-30 minutes and is at no cost to you. It typically consists of
medical history questions, blood and urine specimen, blood pressure
and pulse readings and height and weight measurements. Sometimes
additional requirements may be requested, such as an EKG. Our "Exam
Tips Sheet" will give you valuable information in preparation
for the exam.
Q. What if I do not want to take an exam?
A. We do offer NO EXAM life insurance up to $250,000. This insurance
is more expensive, however, because the company is assuming more
risk with no exam. Click

Q. What if I don't know the answer to a question on the insurance paperwork?
A. Complete the application to the best of your ability. Make sure to sign in all required locations. If there is something you do not understand, please call our office and we will assist you in completing the application.
Q. How long does the application process take?
A. Once the application is submitted and the exam is complete, the process usually takes approximately 4-8 weeks. We will contact you by phone or mail once your policy is approved.
Q. What if I receive a higher rate than I applied for?
A. If you receive a higher rate than was originally quoted or
applied for, you have two options. The death benefit or term length
may be adjusted may be adjusted to lower premiums, or, we can shop
your offer to other companies for a better offer.
Q. When does the life insurance
begin?
A. Coverage begins when you pay your first month's premium.
Q. Should I purchase insurance on my spouse?
A. In most cases, yes. If your spouse provides an income to the family, insurance would be necessary to replace his/her income should something happen. If the spouse is a homemaker, insurance would help cover the cost of daycare or other costs.
